While taking a GLP-1, the number on the scale might be going down but we want to ensure that we’re losing mainly body fat and minimizing the loss of muscle mass in the process. Protein not only helps maintain our current muscle mass when losing weight but also aids in building additional muscle when combined with strength training. Aim to include a lean protein source in each meal and snack throughout the day such as egg whites, chicken breast, ground turkey, Greek yogurt, or cottage cheese! And add 2-3, 30 min, strength training sessions a week for a well rounded approach to weight loss.
